There is nothing like picturesque of Panyaweuyan, Curug Santang, and Curug Sawer
This
article was in the Indonesian language and published on 8.02.2018. Now, I have an English version of it. Please enjoy!

Up hop our
first adventure to Lembah Panyawuyan in the astounding Sukasari Kaler, and
terracing field from far |
red union terrace :P |
So, what
are the exciting things to visit when you are in Panyaweuyan? Nowadays, people
often assume that Panyaweuyan has rice terraces as well as tea plantations too.
Of course, if you look from a distance, it may look that way, but what you can find
actually red onion plantations. Bluffed? Well, I can assure you I’m not
bluffing because if you arrive there, you are going to be mesmerized by its
picturesque terrace. Apart from that, you also can see the spellbinding Mount
Ciremai and other mountains.
Oh, and
before I forget, the entrance fee to see this wondrous sight is only Rp5.000
per person (US$0.30) and if you want to park your motorcycle, it’s Rp2.000
(US$0.12). To go there, it better to go by motorcycle as public transportation
won’t take you all the way there. With this ticket, you can climb up to the top
of Lembah Penyaweuyan. It’s a bit tiring but when you’ve reached the top,
you’ll realize it’s worth the climb. If you want to climb the mountain, it’s
better to wear comfortable sandals or shoes.

I have to
say I prefer the beautiful terrace in Panyaweuyan over the terrace in
Tegallalang in Ubud, Bali. I have ever visited the terrace in Tegallalang too. So,
whenever you are in Panyaweuyan, visit the terrace, you’ll love it.
Curug Santang (Waterfall) |
After
visiting Panyaweuyan, we continued our journey to Argalingga to look at the
waterfall. In one tourist attraction, there are two waterfalls which are Curug
Sawer and Curug Santang. The journey to go there is quite challenging as the
path to access it is poorly maintained, and it’s rockier than the smooth path
to Panyaweuyan.
But don’t
fret, you will reach it safely. After parking, we paid 15.000 rupiahs per
person (US$0.91) to enter, which included parking.
Curug Sawer |
The
adventure did not stop here as we did not see the waterfall straightaway. To
discover and feel cooling waterfall, we needed to climb and go down the poorly
maintained stairs, meaning that the stairs have a lot of rocks from the
mountain. So be careful and don’t slip and take a tumble. Over there, the air
temperature is quite cold, so don’t forget to wear a warm jacket or sweater/jumper.
Other than that, the wind at Curug Sawer is very strong that splashes of the
waterfall can fly and hit you in the face. In comparison to Curug Santang, the
waterfall is small and a bit calmer, also, it’s not too windy. But the two are
just as beautiful.
Stay
healthy!
Xoxo, Rita
